Portage Health Foundation
The philosophy of the PHF is that ''mission'' drives and influences the decisions the Board makes relative to the administration, operation, management of investments, and dispersal of funds back into the community. As part of this approach PHF has adopted five core pillars (areas of giving) that will influence decisions as the PHF works to address the strategic direction and initiatives which will guide the organization through its formative period over the course of the next three to five (3-5) years.
The five (5) pillars of community health that the PHF will focus on include:
1. Health Research
2. Health Education
3. Community Health, Wellness and Prevention
4. Emerging HealthCare Leadership
5. Field of Interest (Access to Care)
These five pillars represent categorical considerations and provide definition and guidance to the Board, as well as to those individuals and community organizations, when considering requests that seek PHF support. It is intended that these will help 1.) define and establish clear guidelines of giving; 2.) identify measureable criteria to ensure community health success; and 3.) grow and further develop the PHF donor base and improve its financial assets required for both the short and long-term success.
