UP Health System - Portage - UP Health Systems - Portage is a multi-specialty medical center and have been serving the Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan since 1896. We are an accredited Chest Pain Center and Level III Trauma Center. At UP Health System – Portage, our mission is Making Communities Healthier®. A few of our services offered close to home are cardiology, oncology, general and orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, express care walk-in clinics, imaging and more.

Leadership Partners

The City of Hancock, founded in the 1850's by early copper explorers, is a progressive and welcoming City of 4,600 residents on the North shore of Portage Lake, and is the northernmost City in Michigan. Hancock has beautiful summers and because of its proximity to majestic Lake Superior, it has wonderfully snowy winters. Today, a diverse economy and employment is supported by two Universities, Finlandia University and Michigan Tech University, along with the Michigan Tech SmartZone, and Portage Health. Hancock is recognized as the regional center for healthcare, with over 1400 jobs in the City connected to healthcare.

Pat's Foods - Ben and Joe Campioni who are fourth-generation grocers in the Campioni Family, own and operate 6 grocery stores in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan-“The U.P”.  Out of the six locations, they also have expanded into offering hardware at two of their locations-Festival Foods in Houghton, MI and U-Save River Center in downtown Ontonagon, MI.  They pride themselves in great customer service and maintaining their hometown proud quality that represents itself as you walk into any of their locations.
