Keweenaw Holiday Hoopla
The Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce, Keweenaw Young Professionals (KYP), Keweenaw Economic Development Alliance (KEDA), and Copper Shores (CSCHF) have announced the cancellation of this year’s Keweenaw Holiday Hoopla.
The annual Holiday Hoopla is a beloved community celebration that brings together local professionals and residents for an evening of networking, good cheer, and support for local scholarships benefiting students entering skilled trades. While the event will take a pause this year, the CTE Skilled Trades Scholarship Program remains fully funded and active thanks to the continued support of Copper Shores Community Health Foundation. Scholarships for graduating seniors pursuing industrial, construction, or other skilled service trade training will still be available this year.
With several ongoing projects and a temporary staffing transition, KEDA and its partners determined it would be best to pause the Holiday Hoopla this year. As the group that coordinates the event’s silent auction, KEDA wanted to ensure the event maintains the quality and impact the community has come to expect. Rather than scale back, the partners agreed to take a short pause and look forward to bringing the event back at full strength in the future.
“We’re grateful for the community’s ongoing enthusiasm for the Holiday Hoopla and the generosity that has fueled the scholarship program over the years,” said Jeff Ratcliffe, Executive Director of KEDA. “We look forward to celebrating together again soon.”

The Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce, Keweenaw Young Professionals (KYP), Keweenaw Economic Development Alliance (KEDA), and Copper Shores Community Health Foundation come together to host the Keweenaw Holiday Hoopla, a collaborative holiday celebration, and fundraiser.
The reason for this seasonal gathering is more than good cheer, tasty food, and networking, as it hopes to raise funds to provide local scholarships.
During the event, KEDA & CSCHF will hosts its annual silent auction including various projects and services donated by local businesses to support their High School Skilled Trades Scholarship Program. The funds raised go towards providing scholarships to graduating seniors going into an industrial, construction or skilled service trade training program.
