Tree Applique' in Wood-Triangles with Wayne Walma
Students will explore the use of small pegs to applique’ (aka attach) wood to a wood background. After a demonstration by the instructor, students will practice the steps involved: cutting, sanding, measuring, creating a design using triangular shapes, finally attaching the pieces to the background. Natural history associated with native wood species will be discussed. Each student will create one (or more, if time) unique wood hanging of their own design. * recommended class size: minimum 7; maximum 10 / age 16 to adult Student supply list…Supplies to bring if you have them, otherwise tools can be shared. side cutter battery operated drill small hammer (please bring a bag lunch) TEACHER CREDENTIALS Wayne has a background in education. He has previously taught classes at Land O’ Lakes Arts and the Porkies Folk School.
