Julie’s Motor Inn

As one of the only Original “Mom and Pops” left in Houghton, we decided to embrace our Classic feel and drop the franchise! This place is a definite throwback to days gone by. Having been Locally, Family Owned and Operated for over 50 years we look forward to having you as our guest when you visit the Keweenaw and our community of Houghton/Hancock.

As always, you can look forward to the comfy & quiet style of hospitality that our little property is known for….excellent coffee in the a.m., bonfires on a warm summer evening, chatting with our staff on the porch, visiting with the neighbors or pooches staying with us, sitting by the garden, walking on the trails, etc, etc.

Having worked in the hospitality industry for over 25 years (yes! I’m that old) I will vouch for classic “Mom & Pops” being “Homey, Hospitable and Inexpensive”. Sadly, a dying breed in our world today, but I can say with utmost confidence that we are the best values in lodging. You don’t need to equate high rates with quality. If you are tired of the lack of appreciation you find at many franchise properties today and don’t mind the “folksy” feeling of a smaller place, we just might be for you. You’re not going to get an interior corridor, electronic keys or a front desk staffed 24 hours. BUT we have safe at door parking, staff that live on the property, a list of phone numbers to call if anything is needed, and excellent after hours check-in procedures. We don’t take checks or provide online booking capabilities BUT we accept all major credit cards and do have a website!
