Waterfalls
No visit to the Keweenaw Peninsula would be complete without taking some time to visit one or more of the awe inspiring waterfalls. Many are located on the roadsides, or within easy walking distance on well traveled paths.
The waterfall flow is greatest in the spring when melting snow invigorates the streams and rivers. During the rest of the summer and fall, some will have substantially reduced flows, but many will still be active and exciting.
PLEASE NOTE: These waterfalls are often located on private property. Please enjoy the view, but respect the landowner's rights. They may from time to time, ask that some vantage points be restricted, to allow revegetation or to prevent further damage. If they post an area closed to climbing, please honor that request. These landowner's have everyone's best interests in mind, and will make sure that adequate viewing is still available. Respectful activities and adherence to guidelines will allow all of us to enjoy these sites, now, and for generations to come.
